Mr Marshall, the West London Magistrate, after dismissing two charges .of street betting and awarding £3 3s t costs against the police, said: “ Unless there is evidence of conversation about betting or betting slips have been found on a defendant it is useless for a police officer to bring a case before me, and I shall give costs against the police every time- unless there is that reasonable amount of evidence."
