IVlervette has boon a consistent galloper and a good stake earner this season. The Lucullus — Brayton mare had her first starts of the latest term in Highweight events at the Waikato Club’s Spring meeting In both of which she was in third place. In three starts at Te Kulti she registered a victory oach time. IVlervette next appeared at the Waipa meeting where she was narrowly beaten into fourth place in the Cup, while her record was later extended by two wins in as many starts at the recent Auckland fixture. Five wins, two thirds and one unplaced in successive starts Is Mervette’s fine record which han netted her owner, IVIr J. Fraser Smith, £1235 in stakes to the present 3tage of the 1925-29 racing term. The Te Rapa trainer, A. Tinker, deserves a lot of kudos for the stage of racing perfection he has brought IVlervette to.
