TEN STARTS: ALWAYS PLACED. The consistency with which Wenday has been racing this season Is Indicated by the fact that she has never been outside a place In ten starts. Opening her engagements at Whangarel In the Spring, the Day Comet—Wenonah mare dead-heated for first with The Thorn in the Parakaki Handicap. On the concluding day she finished In second place in the Hurdles, and was third in the Farewell Handicap. At the Takapuna Spring .meeting Wenday’s two starts were In Highweight events In which she had a win and a second. The Walpa meeting came next at which she was runner-up in the Paterangl Handicap. On the Taranaki trip Wenday ran a third and a second at New Plymouth, and closed her programme with a third placing , and a win at Stratford. Three firsts, four seconds and three thirds, In as many starts this season, Is good form and her trainer, A. P. Brady, has to be given credit for. the success that has attended the efforts of this member of his team. Wenday’s next appearance will be in the Goldfields Cup at Thames on Saturday and, in the condition she Is at present, she should run the ten furlongs out In capable style.
