Pupils' Concert. The pupils from Dr. Hutton's school nf music gave an enjoyable concert at the Town Hall. There was a good attendance and the various items were well applauded. The programme was as follows: — Hawaiian Band, selection; piano duet, Jean Dunlop and Gladys Walker; cornet solo, Ken Casey; guitar duet, Athol Hanfling and Jack Wright; piano solo, Rose Williams; song, Mrs A. Loyal IVJatamata Lodgo.

The half-yearly installations of the Loyal Matamata Lodge M.U., 1.0.0. F. took place this week, D.G.N. Bro. Best officiating. Visiting brethren were present from Hamilton, Cambridge, Mnrrinsville and Tirau, with a good at tendance of local members, in the absence of the N.G. the duties of that office were undertaken by Bro. H. Devey. The D.C.M., Bro. Morrow, and l'.C. Bro. YV. M. Griffiths conducted (.lie. ceremonies, the following officers being installed:—tiros. B. S. Schwarz, N.G.; W. F. Hammonds, V.G.; G. Reist.crcr. V.G. The tilling of the minor offices was held over until next ladies' night. After the ceremonies the members, including many ladies, retired for harmony. A new feature, the presentation of GhrisLmas boxes to junior members, created a pleasant diversion. Children's Playing Area. At a meeting of the committee Mr 13. C. Taylor presided. The secretary reported upon the progress of the work carried out to date on the domain. It was anticipated that the swings would be completed within a few days. The meeting decided to obtain estimates of the cost of a shulc or slide, and also to crecL two seals. The treasurer reported that there was- £si in hand, and that Mr J. Price had a sum of £lO to hand in from an anonymous donor. It was desired that existing works be completed as soon as possible and new ones undertaken.
