The wool-soouring works of Messrs Hays Bros, at Bourke were destroyed by Are. The damage is estimated at £7OOO. The origin of the Are is unknown. BLAZE AT BRISBANE. YOUNG MAN SUFFOCATED. William McLean, 24, was suffocated when a fTre destroyed a block of flats in the city. The firemen' fought their way to McLean's bedroom, but efforts to restore respiration were unavailing.
