WEDDINGS.

BOOTH—NICHOLLS. The marriage took place at’ Toronto, Canada, of Ivy Alexandria, only daughter of the late Charles Nicholls, of Mangerc, and the late Mrs Julia Ellen Hall, of Monavale, Cambridge, New Zealand, and William Alfred Booth, late of Berri, South Australia, eldest son of the late William Booth and Mrs Booth, Ferrybridge, Yorkshire, England. The ceremony was performed on October 3 by the Rev. Dr. Munro, at Old St. Andrew's, United Church of Canada. The bride was gowned in a dove-coloured georgette frock, and w’ore a close-fitting brown hat to match. Miss Elizabeth Orr, of San Francisco, was bridesmaid, and the best man was Mr Jack Moore, of Colombo, Ceylon. The honeymoon was Spent at Niagara Falls. Mr and Mrs Booth intend touring the United States by automobile, and will probably return to New Zealand some time "next year.

MARTIN—HAYNES.

A very pretty wedding, of unusual interest to the residents of Kiwitahi, was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday, December 5, when Marjorie-, the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Haynes, of Kiwitahi, was married to Clifford Henry James, eldest son of Mr and Mrs 11. Martin, of Christchurch. The Rev. Starnes, 8.A., officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father as the Bridal March, “The Voice that Breathed o’er Eden,” was played by Mrs Starnes. She was gowned in an exquisite frock of white crepe de chine, prettily decorated with silver silk lace handkerchief insertions. Her bridal veil was beautifully embroidered and fastened to the head

by the usual wreath of orange blossoms. Silver shoes and stockings and a very pretty white and pink bouquet completed the bridal toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss Elia Haynes, sister of the bride, was arrayed in a dainty dress of green crepe de chine, with silver lace trimmings. She wore a tulle headdress and carried a mauve and pink bouquet. Mr Reginald Haynes was best man. After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the Kiwitahi Hall, where Mrs A. Haynes received her guests, some 70 in number, in a brown silk marocain frock, with hat to match. The hall decorations were a very pleasing and artistic aid to the ceremony. Roses prettily entwined in greenery surrounded the doors and windows, while on the tables the flowers presented a mass of beautiful colour. The hall had been prettily arranged as a drawing-room, and wilh a wealth of beautiful flowers and the pretty dresses of the ladies presented one of the most attractive sights ever seen in Kiwitahi.

A pleasing feature of the afternoon was a presentation to the bride by the school children of the district, with whom she was a great favourite. The usual toasts were honoured, and the bride and bridegroom left by car for their honeymoon.

The bride’s travelling dress was a pretty three-piece hand-embrojdercd one, with hat and shoes to match. On their return they will take up their residence in Morrinsville. Numerous presents, including several cheques, were received.

DEY—DEVITT. _ A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton, on Wednesday last, when Ivy Margaret Winifred, second daughter of the" late Mr J. Devitt and Mrs J. Quinn, of Hamilton East, was married to Honi Eric, second son of Mr and Mrs'Dey, Claudelands. Father O'Connor officiated.

I The bride, who entered the church I on Wie arm of her brother-in-law, .Mr L. Ridgeway, wore a charming frock of ivory crepe de chine with godets of silver lace. She wore the usual veil and a coronet of orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of white roses, sweet peas and maidenhair fern Miss Cush la Devitt and Miss Mavis’ Jones, cousins of the bride, attended her, the former wearing blush rose crepe de chine and the latter blue hand-painted crepe de chine. Little Miss Nola Ridgeway was flower-girl, and Master Keith Ridgeway page. Mr E. Tindel! acted as best man and Mr P. Mills as groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held in Pearson’s Hall. Mrs Quinn received her guests wearing a smart frock of.brown suple satin and hat to match. Mrs Dey, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black satin coat and hat to match. When the usual toasts had been honoured the happy couple left for their honeymoon, carrying with them.the good wishes ef all their friends,
