Canberra at Portsmouth. Thousands witnessed her hurried progress to the dockyards. The cooking devices interested the Princess keenly. The Princess was intrigued by the electro megaphones, by which a command issued from one place was audible everywhere. She commented eulogisticaily on the recreation facilities, and from the quarterdeck w : atched 700 officers and men march past, to the tunc " Hearts of Oak." She remarked on the splendid-looking crew, and then lunched with the captain and senior officers, signing the visitors' book. The Princess presented a silver »rose bowl inscrihed " Good luck to the, Canberra and all who sail on her." As the Princess descended the gangway the crew gave rousing cheers. The Princess smilingly waved her hand, and afterwards inspected 11.M.5. Victory, which was alongside.
