AUCKLAND'S CHAMPION. AUCKLAND. Saturday; The Auckland Athletic and Cycling Club held its 14-mile club championship at Mangere this afternoon, and also a seven-mile consolation race. Results: 14-mile Race.—J. Lindop 1, F. Prior 2. K. J. Mathieson 3. Time, 40m 455. This was a scratch race. Lindop, despite desperate efforts by Prior, Mathieson and Francis, won comfortably by two lengths. After the race G. Eighty-six of the 89 competitors in the 53-miles amateur cycle race from Ashburton to Christchurch started at 12.4 0 in rain, with a strong southwest wind. The scratched men included F. J.
