POST OFFICE CLOSED.
PROTEST BY SETTLERS. COMMITTEE SET UP. The suggestion to close the post office at the Kiwitahi Railway Station has met, with disapproval by the whole of the residents in the Ivereone and Kiwitahi districts. At a large meeting of residents held in the Kereone Hall, at ■ which the postal arrangements were freely discussed, it was resolved-to send a strong protest to the Department, and a committee consisting of Messrs R. Ramsay, It. 4'. Wells, R. Harris. C. B. Havener and R. Mclntyre-was appointed t.o act for the meeting.
