» Social and Dance. "On Wednesday, August 15, a very crfjovablc social and dance was hold in;the Ngahinapouri Hall, when Mr Scavijl, the Reform candidate for Raglan, wjis invited to be present. Although the evening was wet there was a splendid attendance and Mr Seavill had aJgood opportunity of meeting the sdltlcrs. Between the dances dilfcrcnt Items were contributed and were well received, adding extra pleasure to the evening. Miss G. Ryburn contributed a recitation, Mr Lewis and Mr Edsalli
songs, and Mr Mills a monologue and recitations. Mr Dalton’s orchestra was in attendance, while Mr G. Reid carried out the duties of M G. in an eflicicnt manner. Mrs R. Gillard kindly supplied the extras. After supper had been handed round Air .1. Ryburn in a short address introduced Mr Seavill, who then spoke for a few’ minutes, expressing his appreciation for the sociable evening and for the opportunity afforded him of meeting the people of the district. Mr Seavill was. then accorded three hearty cheers, and the singing of ‘‘lie's a Jolly Good Fellow” promised the candidate good support in this district.
