The Channel swimmers, Ivy I-lawkes, of Brighton, and Frank Perks, of Birmingham, left Cape Grisnez at 9.47 p.m. and 10.2 p.m. respectively on Saturday. Perks soon overtook Miss but gave up at 8.7 a.m. to-day. Miss Hawkes was successful, and landed at St. Margarst’s Bay at 5.30 a.m., after being nearly 20 hours in the water.
