Taylor, of Tuakau, S o-day announced that lie would stand ,is an Independent candidate for the Thames electorate. Mr Taylor was born at Thames, the son of a miner. lie saw service in the South African war, and was for some time in the ■ police force. He has had eight years' local hody work.
