Country Women's ClubThe newly-formed Takiwa Country Women's Club met in the Memorial lla.ll, Te Uku, on July 19, when there was a large attendance of members. Miss Clytha Stanton gave instruction in raffla work to a number of those present. Afternoon tea was dispensed. During the afternoon a recitation was given by Mrs Argyle, of Ashburton, and was much appreciated. Discussion Clan. The subject on Wednesday evening was "Unemployment." There was a fair attendance of members and a lot of discussion. The remainder of the evening was spent in playing cards. Supper was handed round before the gathering dispersed. PersonalMaster Reg. Harsant, of the local post-office staff, is absent on sick leave.
