STEALS TYPEWRITERS.
NEWSPAPER WORKER’S CRIME. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Abraham Novak, a compositor, aged 29, appeared before Mr E. Page Lu the .Magistrate’s Court to-day on charges Of theft of £5 and three typewriters, of a total value of £42 18s. The chief detective stated that Novak, who was employed in the Dominion newspaper office, committed the offences when he ceased work at 2 in the morni-ng. The £5 was stolen from a workman and the typewriters were taken at different Aates. Accused had been lined £1 in i 917 for theft. Counsel for accused, in asking for probation, said Novak stole, the typewriters as he had been pressed by some of his creditors to raise, money. The Magistrate, remanded him for BentcJi&c till Monday.
