RUGBY FOOTBALL.

HAMILTON UNION. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES. OLD BOYS v. FRANKTON. The Hamilton Union’s fixtures for Saturday at Rugby Park for the Sage Memorial Cup are: Old Boys v. Franklon and City v. Technical Old Boys. Ihe Marist Senior team having the bye. The main attraction on No. 1 at .'5 p.m.. will be Frank toil v. Old Boys. The form of Old Boys, particularly in Ihe back division is too well known to need comment here, and headed by a pack, which though a little light is well trained and nippy, a good display can be expected. Frankton suffered a couple of defeats, early in the piece, but heartened by their somewhat unexpected win over Technical Old Boys last week;, they may be expected to*give Old Boys many an anxious moment before no side is called. Frankton are noted for playing a forward game of a healthy type and supported by a set of backs improving with each game, some nice football is to be expected. The ga'mc scheduled for No. 2 at 3 p.m. is City v. Technical Old Boys, but at the time of writing there is a doubt, owing to influenza and minor injuries, as to Technical Old Boys ability to turn out a team. In the event* of their being unable to do so, we understand that City have very sportingly intimated their readiness j to forego claiming the match by do- < fault, in which event the match will j be played later if necessary. This j action is very mu'cli to City s credit > and is evidence of the spirit which j sits right at the heart of Rugby foot- j ball. . I

The curtain raiser on the main ground at 1.3(J p.m. will be provided by two Junior A Section teams, City and Old Boys. To-morrow will see the whole of the forty-eight teams composing the Hamilton Rugby Union’s competition, down to the fifth grade in action, and the grounds at the Show Grounds, as well as those at Rugby Park will be ’ully occupied.
