MOTHER’S UNION.
MEETING OF ST. GEORGE’S BRANCH A meeting of the St. Georgefc branch, of the Mothers’ Union was held yesterday, opening with a short service in the church, conducted by Rev. Adams, and continuing in the Parish Hall, with Mrs Kent Johnson (the enrolling member) presiding in the absence of the president (Mrs Beeche). A delicious afternoon tea was served by the ladies of the committee. Dr. Pinfold, speaker for the afternoon, gave a very interesting talk on “Heroines and Heroism,” with instructive examples from history, of the heroism of women and the deeds which make heroines of women. Mrs Holloway proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Dr. Pinfold, which was received with acclamation; and Mrs Kent Johnson closed the meeting, thanking him and voicing the appreciation of all those present.
