GIRDLED WITH SONG.
THE BRITISH EMPIRE. WILLIAM HEUGHAN’S TOUR. At the conclusion of the recital at the Theatre Royal last night Mr William Heughan, Scottish actor-singer, stated that his party had girdled the British Empire with song. They had visited every city and town of any size in the Empire, and had established a “chain of song.” He mentioned that much interest was being taken in New Zealand by other countries, and many questions were asked concerning the people. He stated that he was a great
“booster” for Ibis Dominion, and it was his sincere opinion that in New Zealand was to be found the finest type of British Empire builders, an opinion he had voiced very ■often in his travels.
