Robertson, sales manager for Wright, Stephenson and Co., said that the stock offered would make a great foundation for any herd in the Dominion. Mr. W. Miers had been in the Jersey business for a number of years and had received his education in the right school. He,secured his famous herd from Mr. T. Church some years ago, and as a result he now possessed one of the greatest herds in Australasia. The herd had a reputation for great productive ability, and a unique opportunity was offered to secure the right blood of this great strain.

The bidding opened briskly, and as we went to press satisfactory prices were maintained. Of the i 8 cows offered an average price of £43 lis lOd was secured.
