CIVIC RECEPTION.

MISS MAUDE ROYDEN IN HAMILTON. A olvlo reception was tendered to Miss Royden by the Mayor and Councillors at'the Lyceum Club yesterday afternoon. Bowls of beautifully arranged chrysanthemums decorated the rooms, and Miss Royden, who wore a smart frock of black georgette with godets of lace and olose-fltting black hat, was presented with a bouquet of lovely white roses, dahlias and maidenhair fern. A large crowd attended to receive h 4 er, Mrs Valder, with whom she is staying, welcoming her to Hamilton. The Mayor then spoke, wishing her every success in New Zealand, to which Miss Royden replied In the ' charming and simple way which has appealed to thousands the world over.
