THE HELD-UP STEAMERS. ATTITUDE OF COOKS’ UNION. WILL MAINTAIN THE DEMANDS. (United Press Association.) (Received April 23, 10.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 23. Mr W. Appleton, chairman of the Huddart Parker Limited, stated that the Company had failed to obtain* crews for the Barwon and Yarra. It was anxious to recommission these vessels. In the cases of the Ulimaroa, Zealandia, and Corio he was unable to say when the next call for crews would be made. Mr Appleton believes that the steamer Goulburn will next be involved with the marine oooks, who are causing a hold-up and arc determined to refuse duty until their demand is conceded despite Judge Detheridge’s threat to cancel their award.
