The Jury acquitted Sinclair ht criminal and civil court actions arising out of the Teapot Dome scandals, and by Its verdict re** Jeoted the unanimous decisions of the United States Supreme Court and United States Circuit Court of appeals that the Teapot Dome transactions had been fraudulent and corrupt. The jury was out less than two hours, and at no time was then© a danger of a verdict of guilty, only one or two jurors having a slight difficulty in making up their minds. The verdict caused great surprise, and it is not yet decided whether Fall, who was a co-de-fendant with Sinclair, will be tried on the same charges of fraud. Senator Norris said: “We ought to pass a law that no man worth 100,000,000 dollars should be tried for a crime. Senator Nye said: “You cannot convict a millionaire.”
