THIRTEEN INCHES OF RAIN. RIVERS’ ALARMING RISE. FLOATING BATHS DESTROYED. BRISBANE, April 22. When the downrushing flood waters in the Brisbane River met the incoming tide yesterday the stream rose 10ft 9in, practically four feet below the record height in 1908. Thirteen incdies of rain fell at Rockhampton in 24 hours. The Fitzroy River rose alarmingly, and Hie wharf is under water. William Weston was drowned in Frenchman’s Creek.
