AN IMPORTED GALLOPER
LORIEIMT II IS 'QUALITY. The English-bred horse, Lorient 11., had his first start in this country at the Avondale meeting on Wednesday when he filled fifth place among the sprinters in the Mt. Eden Handicap. Lorient II is a decided acquisition to the bloodstock of this country, to which ho was imported last year by Dr. W. C. Ring, of Auckland. The six year old, son of Lomond and Annie Laurie was raced in Ireland as a two year old when he won three races, while two sprint races In England tho next season were to his credit.
