STYLETTES.
"Curves ahead" report fashion authorities. The geometric decorations of the present are to be succeeded by curves. Seamings, yokes, insets, etc., will go into the discard fop soft, undulating lines. Deeply scalloped hemlines and circular stitchings are now revealing themselves in ad-, vance models.
The back cape has taken on a nevr individuality, having a bertha front, with dropped shoulder line. This is an exceedingly gracious style for the too-thin woman, who wishes to soften, angles. Lelong's detachable capelet, which is tied across the front of ths neck and finished in a side bow, is much liked by the woman whose figured requires elaboration of this kind. j * * * * ! Arrow darts and rows of buttons.! are countenanced in the newest tailleurs, and the prediction is that but-. tons will be used lavishly on spring l tailored frocks and suits.
She who needs the softening effect of lacy and fluffy rfeckwear findf
plenty of it on display in the neckweni departments. The woman who is broad-shouldered ignores it entirely, confining herself to the less frilly scarfs. * * * * Black or white velvet gowns worn with metal wraps seem to be the prevailing order for formal wear. However, one sees quite a few velvet evening gowns in colour, in green-blues, mauve and blue tones and in deep shades o£ orange.
