SINGERS ENTERTAINED.

WELLINGTON PIONEER CLUB. There was a large attendance" "of members at the Pioneer Club, Wellington, when a reception was held in honour of Mr and Mrs Eraser Gange (.Miss Amy Evans), with whom was Miss Gonley, their accompanist. Although Mr and Mrs Gange were both suffering from severe colds, they refused to break their engagement, and their presence was much appreciated. ]n welcoming them the president said bow much their visit had been looked forward to, and how much members appreciated their coining that afternoon.

Mr Gauge, in replying, said that it was seven years since they had visited New Zealand, and they had wished to come before, but it had been impossible. They felt however, that they had more to give now, with their wider experience. Although her voice was severely taxed by a cold, Miss Evans said a few words, also thanking members for their kind welcome.

Miss Evans was wearing a gown of dull black satin closely draped, and

small black felt hat. She was presented with a bouquet of red roses and violets. Miss Conley. who was in fawn, received a posy of apricot roses and forgcl-nif-nots. The rooms were decorated with roses and bowls of hydrangea, and afternoon tea was served by the house committee, after which many of those present bail an opportunity of exchanging greetings with the guests of honour.
