POWER REVENUE.
WAIRARAPA FIGURES. A net increase in revenue during March of £514 over the corresponding month last year was reported at the monthlv meeting of the Wairarapa Power Board by the secretary-manager (Mr G. Brown). This made the total net increase for the year £5828. The amount paid in guaranteed lines was greater than was anticipated, and the total revenue from this source and from the sale of current was substantially greater than was estimated (£35,500). The actual revenue was £30,658. The estimate on these two items has accordingly been exceeded by £llsß, which, considering the effects of daylight saving and the shortage at Mangahao, is satisfactory. It. having been reported that all the dams at Mangahao were full, application was made to the Public Works Department for permission to close down the lower plant for the purpose of cleaning the pipe line and lower dam.
Twenty-six new consumers were connected during the month, made up as follows: Mastcrton 15, Carterton A, Grey town 1, Featherston 5, Maryborough 1. The total is now 3198, an increase for the year of 294.
