THE LATEST RETURNS. EXCESS OF WITHDRAWALS. A further excess of withdrawals over deposits is shown by the Post Office Savings Bank returns for the quarter ended December 31. The amount is £757,231, which is somewhat larger than’the excess for the corresponding quarter of 1926, hut much lower than, tiie excess of withdrawals in the December quarter of 1925, which was £942,639. Deposits during Hie quarter amounted to £7,152,342, a reduction of £13,182, while withdrawals were £7,909,573. an increase of £8617. The, excess of withdrawals was therefore greater by £52,099.
