UNLAWFULLY ON PREMISES
SEQUEL TO POLICE RAID. Three young men were charged before Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., this morning with being found unlawfully on premises for the purpose of obtaining liquor. The case arose out of a recent police raid on a shop in Frankton which resulted in the conviction of the proprietor for sly grog-selling. Each of the three accused decared that they were on the premises for a perfectly legitimate purpose, but the Magistrate considered their evidence did not ring true; he believed they were there to procure liquor and fined each £1 with costs added.
