TROUBLES ON FRONTIER. SERIOUS FIGHTS REPORTED. AN INTOLERABLE SITUATION. (Australian and N.Z. Cnhle Assn.J LONDON, October 3. The Constantinople correspondent oC the Times says incidents on the frontier of Persia and Turkey are assuming serious proportions. It is officially reported lhat Persian bands advanced into Turkish territory. They were met by Turkish troops and fighting occurred which resulted in both sides sustaining casualties. The Persians captured the Turkish advance guard, which included several officers. Another fight occurred in Turkish territory, in the course of which the Turks inflicted severe losses on the Persians. The official organ, Hakimiet, urges the Government to act firmly and end the intolerable situation. It asserts that the frontier bands are protected by local Persian authorities, and accuses the Teheran Government of not fulfilling its -treaty engagements. Persian bands are also reported to have penetrated into Russian territory and to 'have pillaged several villages.
