CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY. THE SEiVJI-FINAL. MISS PAYTON BEATEN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association./ PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The semi-final of the Dominion ladies' golf championship was played this, morning. There was a gusty wind. Results:—

Miss Culling (Auckland) beat Miss Payton (Rotorua), 1 up. ■ Mrs Colliuson (Manawatu) beat Miss Upton (Auckland), 5 and 4. The Miss Culling-Miss Payton match resulted in keen interest, play being very even. At the turn Miss Culling was one v>p. She maintained the advantage, and with two holes to play was two up. Miss Payton won the next hole in four to Miss Culling's Ave. The final hole was halved in five—one over bogey, the game ending in Miss Culling's favour b> one up. The Mrs Collinson—iMiss Upton match was another good exhibition of golf in which the advantage of the first half resulted to the Manawatu player, who was four up at the turn. Maintaining her advantage the latter was able to win five and four.

NEW RECORD FOR COURSE. MADE BY MISS OLIVE McKAY. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. A new course record was established by Miss O. Kay (St. Clair) this afternoon. Miss Kay went round in 75, thus beating her "own record of 77 registered last Friday. Her card this afternoon rcad:-r-Out : 4 4 5 2 6 5 5 3 3 —37. in : 5 4 3 5 4 4 5 4 4—38.

In the competition for the Donelly Cup there was a tie between Mrs Sim and Mrs R. G. Guy, both of Manawatu. Miss Kay took the Mellsop Cup with the highest aggregate for three medal rounds, 241. Auckland A won the provincial teams' match, the scores being:—Mrs Deighton, 84; Miss Payton, 83; Miss Horton, 89; Miss Culling, 85; total, 341. The Wellington A team was second with 344.

NEW ZEALAND UNION NEXT TOURNEY AT AUCKLAND. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Union decided to hold the next annual championship at Middlemore, Auckland. It was also decided that the four-ball best-ball bogey match, usually played during the championship tourney, should be changed to a medal foursomes.

The home* links coronation medal match was fixed for the last week in May. It was resolved to cancel the provincial teams match played at the championship meetings. Mrslnnes (Manawatu) donated a cup to be known as the County Teams' Cup, to be played for in place of the provincial match.

It was decided that the limit of handicaps for entrance to the championship contest should be reduced to 10. la handicap matches the limit will be 20 for medal matches and 15 for bogey matches. Mrs Mellsop (Rotorua) was reelected president, and Miss Payton (Rotorua) secretary.
