OHINEMURI JOCKEY CLUB.

LOSS ON YEAR’S WORK. PAEROA, Saturday. At the annual meeting of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club the report expressed regret that for the second time in the last twenty five years a loss had to be recorded on the year’s transactions. In 1926 on the second day the totalisator revenue was £37,701, while this year it had fallen to £21,782, and while in 1926 the gate receipts on the second day were £583 this year they were only £243.

The committee succeeded in making satisfactory arrangements with its bankers which had enabled the club to pay off £3OOO mortgage due in August last. This arrangement had made the club property free of debt with the exception of the bank overdraft and the committee felt that the finances of the club were on a sound footing. At the same time it would be necessary to proceed with caution and avoid as far as possible the possibility of getting into an unsound linaucial position.
