HAMILTON ORPHANS.
VISIT AUCKLAND CLUB. CLOSING NIGHT. On Saturday night fourteen, members of the Hamilton Orphans' Club and a similar number from the Tc Awamutu Club paid a visit to the Auckland Orphans' Club, and participated in the closing ceremony of the season there. Scots Hall was packed, it being estimated that fully 700 Orphans were present. The programme was a really excellent one, and included items by some of Auckland's leading performers —Bro. Walter Vernon (ventriloquist), The Campbell Boys (in concertina turns), humorous sketches by Mr Yates, and songs by members of the Lyric Quartette. The chairman, Bro. J. Stanton, welcomed the visitors, Bro. A. H. Powell, of the Hamilton Orphans, replying on behalf of the Hamilton visitors and Bro. A. A. Reece on behalf of the Te Awamutu brethern.
During the evening Bro. J. D. Crawford, secretary of the Club, was presented by the chairman, on behalf of the Honorary Association, of Kindred Clubs of N.Z., with the badge of this office as President of the Association.
