SUMMER SCHOOL.
W.E.A. ARRANGEMENTS. HAMILTON TFTE CENTRE. COURSE AT CHRISTMAS. The second summer school of the Workers' Educational Association will be held by the Auckland Centre at Hamilton, from Monday, December 26, to January 2 next (inclusive). The camp will not be confined to members of the W.E.A., and an invitation is extended to all interested in adult education.
The party will arrive in camp in time for lunch on Monday. December 26, and the regular programme will begin the following day. There will be a general course of lectures, and two study groups in the mornings, with excursions and games in the afternoon, popular lectures, play readings, music and community singing in the evenings. The study group will be as follow: —
Democracy, Its Strength, Weakness and Promise—(l) The Rise and Nature of Democracy, Mr Doric Algie, M.A.; (2) Democracy and Foreign Affairs, Rev. W. G. Monckton, M.A.; (3) The Challenge of Fascism, Mr N. M. Richmond, 8.A.; (4) The Challenge of Sovietism, Professor H. Belshaw; (5) The Democratic Spirit in Modern Drama, Rev. W. Jellie, 8.A.; (6) Problems of Industrial Democracy, Professor H. Belshaw.
Study Circle Groups—(l) Dante: His Life and Times; The Divine Comedy; Rev. W. Jellie, ' 8.A.; (2) New Zealand Economic Problems, Professor H. Belshaw.
