LONG-DISTANCE FLIGHT.
• KOENNECKE CRASHES. DENMARK TO EAST INDIES. FRE WEN AGAIN DELAYED. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) BAGDAD, Sept. 30. The Geriran airman, Koennecke, who has reached Bagdad on his flight to the East, when attempting to take off there in continuation of his voyage, crashed. The machine was damaged, but the occupants escaped uninjured. AMSTERDAM, Oct. 1. Flying-Officer Koppen, accompanied by Pilot-Mechanic Elerman, took off for a journey to the Dutch Bast Indies. The intention is to demonstrate the possibility of a regular air mail to the East. BRISBANE, Oct. 2. The airman, lieutenant K. W. Frewen, has again been compelled to postpone his proposed fight to Sydney owing to bad weather.
