HOOPER CUP GAME. OLD BOYS RETAIN TROPHY. . A GOOD CONTEST. The second game in the Hooper Cup series was played at Steele Park on Saturday afternoon, under ideal oonoilions. The playing area was m splendid order, and the game provided a fitting finale to the season's competition play. The Game. The opening stages were in School's favour, but no benefit resulted and Old Bov's back division set their forwards in motion repeatedly. However, the chances were not taken full advantage of, and although having the better uf the play, they found School's defence a lively proposition, Old Boys netted twice and at half time the score was Old Boys ~ High School 0 In Ihe second session School started smartlv, and a nippy run ended in a hard shot, which opened their score. Old Boys were busy in defence for a while, following which the forwards came on to their game somewhat, and some fine hockey was witnessed. The hall was hit round with great freedom by both sides, but Old Boys were not to be stopped and three more goals were added before lime was called, with Old Boys retaining the trophy, (having won the first game 4-3) for the season, with the scores Old Boys 5 High School i Messrs W.
