BOWLING.
TE AWAMUTU CLUB. The Te Awamutu Bowling Club was en fete on Saturday afternoon, when they opened their season in lovely weather. The greens were in perfect order and there was a record attendance, the greens being full. Visitors were present from Te Kuiti, Otorohanga, Cambridge, Hamilton, Morrinsville, Hamilton East, Whitiora, and Claudelands. The president, Mr Ross, welcomed the visitors, and hoped they w.ould have a good afternoon's enjoyment. He also read a telegrarn of good wishes from Matamata. Mr Wernham, secretary of the South Auckland Centre, also spoke, and explained briefly the various alterations proposed by the executive, and asked bowlers to give them their careful consideration. The president then called on his daughter, Miss Marjory Ross, to throw the first jack, and this being done in the approved style, he declared the greens open for the season. Play then commenced and continued throughout the afternoon, and was greatly enjoyed by everyone. Scores were as follows: — T. North, Cooper, Strawbridge, Ross (s.) 16, v. A. Rennic, A. T. Cullam, A.
