DARING ROBBERIES.
SENSATIONS, IN SYDNEY.
YOUNG WOMAN ATTACKED.
JEWELLER’S WINDOW SMASHED,

Two daring robberies are
reported. V : :Y The first case was that of a • young woman who drew over £2OO In wages from a city bank for hor firm at Richmond. She placed the money Ir. an attache case and when twenty -- yards from the factory two men attacked her. One snatched the case and the other threw her on the ground.’ The robbers then dashed off at a furious speed in a motor-car, pursued by a traveller , who forced the robbers’ car to crash into a fire alarm pillar, but owing to a war injury he was unable to pursue them further. In the second case at a busy hour a man smashed a jeweller’s window in the city and grabbed a tray of jewels valued at £IOOO. He was however, held by men till the police arrested him. During the struggle jewellery, consisting chiefly of rings, was scattered about the ground and £6OO worth is still missing. It, is believed to havelieen stolen by the crowd.
