JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. TE AROIIA BRANCH. The annual meeting of members of the Te Aroha branch of the Justices of the Peace Association took place on Friday, there being a large attendance. .Mr A. J. Burrows presided. He paid a tribute to the splendid work carried out by the association, in particular in the establishment ol'a Children's Court. The branch has a membership of 29. The secretary-treasurer, Mr W. R. Johnson, submitter! the balance-sheet, which showed a satisfactory balance.
Votes of sympathy were tendered the relatives of the late Mrs A. J. Stratford and Mr A. A. Wagstaff. The following officers were elected for the year:—Patron, Mr Platts, S.M.; president, Mr A. J. Burrows; committee, Messrs W. Luxton, W. llallett, F. M. Strange, F. E. Hughes, 11. Jackson, S. Sellars, and J. B. Johnson. The appointment of delegates was left to the chairman to arrange.
