THE RAINFALL.

FIGURES FOR JULY. Cambridge. The rainfall for July at Cambridge was 5.35 in, which is considerably above the average, and the rain was spread over twenty days. The heaviest fall was 1.38 in on the 25th. In the corresponding month of last year the fall was 2.oGin, with thirteen wet days. The average fall for July for the past fifteen years is -i.'ilin. For the first seven, months of 1927 Cambridge has had a rainfall of 29.81 inches, compared with 27.30 inches for the same period last year. Kautapu. At Ilautapu, July’s record was 5.37 in for the month, with 19 wet days, the maximum fall being 1.45 in on the 25th. in 1926 it was 2.36 in. Roto-o-Rangi. At Roto-o-Rangi the record was 5.04 in, which fell on twenty days. The maximum fall was .93in on the 25th. Morrinsville. The rainfall at .Morrinsville for July, as recorded by Dr. G. E. Seville, shows that the registration for the tlie month was 5.15 inches, on 10 days. The greatest, daily fall wos on the 25th, when .25 inches was recorded. The July fall for the three previous years was:—l926. 4.35 in on 8 days; 1925. 5.70 in on 10 days; 1924, 3.1 Gin on-9 days.
