HOSPITAL EXPENDITURE.
ESTIMATES FOR YEAR. A SLIGHT DECREASE. A slight decrease over the previous year's figures is shown in the expenditure estimates of the Waikato Hospital Board for the coming year. The estimated maintenance for the year 1927-28 is £69,234 Is lid and estimated receipts are £24,102 3s sd, leaving £45,131 18s Gd to be raised by levy and subsidy. Expenditure in capital works is estimated at £17,920, including £12,G20 for repayment of loans. Adding the balance of unexpended works not completed brought the total up to £19,820 5s lid. Estimated capital receipts, including a credit balance of £4588 4s Sd were £4627 3s lid, leaving £15.193 2s to be raised by levy and subsidy. The total estimate for capital and maintenance expenditure was £60,325. compared with £60,356 7s 3d for the previous year.
All the levies for 1926-27 have been received by the Waikato Hospital Board, with the exception of one amount which is expected to come to hand within the next few days. The treasurer's monthly report shows receipts amounting to £12,830 i 6s, including subsidy of £5079 18s 7d, and £5632 lis lOd in levies, Hospital fees were £1359 18s 6d.
