PECULIAR CASE.
CLAIM AGAINST STEPFATHER.
WELLINGTON, Wednesday
Mr Page, S.M., gave reserved judgment to-day in regard to a dispute respecting £79 claimed by a walcrsider, Thomas Samuel Harvey, from his stepfather, Joseph Dooley. The story was that the money was banked for the plaintiff by Mrs Dooley over two years ago, so that he could return to England, marry a girl in Liverpool and set up a home. However, an affiliation order by consent was made against plaintiff in respect to a Wellington girl. The money was then transferred to defendant, when fears were entertained that the Wellington girl was going to take proceedings for breach of promise. Plaintiff, however, did not go Home, but married the Wellington girl against her parents' wishes. Mr Page found for the plaintiff for the full amount and costs.
