U.S.A. COTTON CROPS.

f DEPARTMENTAL FORECAST. AROUSES ANXIETY. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received November 9, 12.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 8. Further anxiety as to the cotton situation .has been created by the Agriculture Department's forecast of the crop of 17.918,000 bales. The last report predicted 17,454,000. The market, however, evidently discounted the forecast as cotton advanced promptly, the December 'position gaining 10 points and the January 18. Considerable interest was shown in the ginnings of November 1, which were only 50,000 bales over last year, indicating that a large part of the crop remains unpicked.
