BELGIUM'S FUTURE QUEEN

PRINCESS ASTRID IN BRUSSELS. WARMLY WELCOMED. BY SURGING, CHEERING CROWDS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received November 9, 9.20 a.m.) BRUSSELS, November 8. Belgium welcomed its future Queen when, amid peeling bells and crashing salutes, Princess Astrid walked shyly down the carpeted gangway of the Flygia, Sweden's finest cruiser, which was moored ia the Scheldt, at Antwerp. There was a brilliant ceremony of welcome at' the Town Hall, followed by the quayside reception under circling aeroplanes dropping flowers. The party then entrained for Brussels, where the marriage will be celebrated in the famous church of St. Gudule on November 10, following the civil ceremony at Stockholm. The police at the Brussels station were unable to restrain the surging, cheering spectators, necessitating Prince Leopold assisting Princess Astrid, while the King made way for the Queen.
