NINTH ANNIVERSARY. DEMONSTRATIONS IN MOSCOW. GREAT MILITARY DISPLAY. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.l MOSCOW, November 7. Half a million people to-day marched singing through the Red Square all day long in celebration of the ninth anniversary of Bolshevism. Columns of working men converged on the Square and passed Lenin's tomb, on top of which Tomsky and Kalinin stood and shouted short speeches by means of loud speakers. The marchers shouted back thunderously. All Moscow throbbed to the music of brass bands. Red banners and streamers were waxed in all directions. A review of the Red Army took place at 8 a.m. For three hours infantry, cavalry and artillery marched past Lenin's tomb. Children's demonstrations were features of the day's programme. This .was carried out in, spite of drizzling rain. Good order was maintained, and there were no disturbances. AN ECHO IN LONDON. MEETING IN ALBERT HALL. RUSSL\N DEEDS LAUDED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, November 7. The Albert Hall was crowded tills evening when a gathering was hold to commemorate- the ninth anniversary of Bolshevism in Russia. Mr George Lansbury, Labour M.P., presided. When the chairman came on to the platform the audience rose and sang toe "Red Flag." Mr Lansbury was loudly cheered, when he remarked to any soldier or sailor who might be present that the Russian revolution had only been made possible because the Russian army and navy refused to fight. Other speakers lauded the aid Russia has given to the miners in Britain. Mr C. P. Trcvelyah, Labour M.P. for Newcastle-upon-Tyne, claimed that the gift of £1,000,000 by Russians was the largest sum any body of workers had ever given to the workers of another country.
