NO PEACE IN SIGHT.
BRITISH COAL STRIKE. MR COOK NOT HOPEFUL. WHAT DEFEAT WOULD MEAN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, November 7. The general secretary of the Miners' Federation, Mr A. .1. Cook, speaking at Boolle, Lancashire, said he hoped for peace, but no peace was yet in sight. He said he wanted to stop the agony which was murdering men and women and inculating hate, but he would not, accept peace at any price in order to save an organisation. "If wo are beaten," said Mr Cook, "nobody else will be able to stand on their legs."
