OBITUARY.
MR HUGH HART LUSK. An old and highly esteemed colonist, Mr Hugh Hart Lusk, who took a prominent part In public matters in Auckland many years ago, died yesterday, aged 80. Ho was the youngest brother of the late Major D. H. Lusk, and came to Auckland in 1850. He entered public life as a member of the Provincial Government and was a strong supporter or tlie doctrine of free education, lie subsequently represented the Franklin electorate in Hie House of Representatives for some years. Mr Lusk is survived by an adult family, including Messrs Hugh, Harold 8., George, and John Lusk and Mesdames Knight and Raven. CAPTAIN HYDE. A link with the Crimea was severed yesterday by the death at Wellington of Captain Joseph Ilyde, late of the Royal Artillery and the New Zealand Field Artillery, at the age of 95 years. MR H. BRADDELL, HASTINGS, Thursday. The death is announced of Mr H. Braddell, suh-cdilor of Hie Hawke’s Bay Tribune, a well-known journalist in 'Ashburton, Stratford, Hamilton, and Invercargill, and for many years editor of the Colonist at Nelson; aged 13.
