The chairman reported that nothing definite had been arranged for a return senior match with Hamilton. Ho bad suggested Saturday, Iho IStb instant, hut (lie Hamilton officials were not sure that, that date would suit. The Waipa Hockey Association applied for a share of next Saturday’s gate receipts in consideration of the fact that the default of Areta (Auckland) Club to come to Tc Awamutu Inst Saturday had enabled the Rugby Union lo have the full gate receipts. The association had been put to some expense in preparing for the match last. After long kicking between the opposing backs, play settled in Rotorua’s 25, when Richmond got through, but Keepa made a good save. Matamata returned to the attack, to be sent back by a long kick by Pilkington, Dixon returning. Egan was defending well, and cleared with a good kick. Siminonds missed and Howard got up, but kicking too hard, Keepa, the Rotorua full back forced. A good passing bout by all the Rotorua backs- was spoiled by Dohunt. Abraham, with a good kick, put Rotorua on itic defence again,, the ball going out near llie corner.
