RECONSTRUCTION OF COUNCIL. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Government is to be asked by the conference concerning war funds administration, which was held in Wellington to-day, to reconstitute the National War Funds Council, so thai members should he nominated annually by patriotic societies and appointed by the Government. 11 was decided to recommend that the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association should have increased direct representation on the War Funds Council. . According to information supplied tho Canteen Regimental Trust Fund had in hand £IBO,OOO. It was stated that this money was being conserved with an eye to the future when the funds of other societies would be exhausted, and when there would bo an urgent call for accumulated funds. It was estimated that in a very few years the amount would he brought lo £200,000. The meeling decided that il was the duty of the War Funds Council to provide funds lo assist patriotic societies whose funds were exhausted.
