BAND OF HOPE.
AN ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME. Last evening in Wesley Hall, Hamilton East, the second Hand of Hope was held. Rev. I'VE. Leadley occupied the chair, and Mr Christopher, New /.calami Alliance speaker, gave an address. The following programme was nicely rendered. Selection, " The Wayside Chapel," 11. E. Orchestra; instrumental duet, Masters S. Duncan and 11. Milne; chorus, " The Light is Breaking," combined choirs; "The. Prairie Lea." Hoys' Choir: trio, by Misses M. Haswell and R. and E. Elliott; duct, Masters W. and N. Thomas; solos by Misses K. Clements; (violin obligate Miss Young) song (welsh), Alice Ruck (encored) (iwiadys Jones; (chorus, Combined Choirs') and Mr Wheatley; character sketch, Miss V. Dixon (encored); recitations by Misses C. Foster, M. Stablel'ord, A. Ruck, N. Watkins and Masters Lcn Cower, Willy Thomas, and Harry Slablcford; Character sketch "The Newsboy" Miss Cora Dixon; item "The Showman" Mr Mears (encored); dualogue "The Losson" Misses L. and ,J. Kox. The accompaniments were played by Misses K. Jack, and F. Young (violin).
