DESTRUCTIVE FIRES
SERVICE CAR DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Monday. A service car driven by .Mr 11. Nairn and owned by Mr C. Manson, of Taumarunui, was destroyed by lire between ltaurimu and Oio yesterday afternoon. Mr Nairn was returning to T;;umarunui from Ractihi when the car awjght fire. The driver and the two other occupants of the car could do nothing to save it. The car was insured. DUNEDIN OUTBREAK. DUNEDIN, Monday. Eire destroyed in Moray place a building owned by the Shand Estate, and occupied by Reilly's fruit mart and Carter's Motors. Twenty motor cars were saved, although in a damaged condition. Reilly's fruit mart contained £GOOO worLh of stock, including produce, wheat, oats, fruit and potatoes. It is feared that very little was saved.
